I don’t go for that Scorch….In Moyes’s world that’s not possible and it’s been done on a relatively modest budget…

Re: ⚽ Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
They are a fucking good team. Miles ahead of us and played some really good football.

Unfortunate for us that we caught a white hot team on the rise, too good for the competition they are playing in really. Unless the vultures circle for their players, they’ll go really deep into the champions league next season as well no doubt. Even if Liverpool manage to beat Atalanta somehow (wouldn’t put it past the insufferable flukey cunts) I think Leverkusen will do them in the final anyway.

Can’t have any complaints about the game. Would have been really good to keep it 0-0 and it was turning out to be a good Moyesey special rearguard achievement but pressure, quality, attacking mindset and relentlessness prevailed and they were deserved winners. We aren’t out of it but it’s going to have to take one fucking special performance to bring it back. 0-0 would have given us a great chance, even 1-0 not so bad but 2-0 feels like a bit of a mountain. I hope we go for it until it’s impossible and if we go down it’s in flames rather than with a whimper. Massive blow having no Paqueta or possibly Bowen though. No fucking idea what Paqueta was thinking. The idiot.

Anyway. It doesn’t look good and this lot are not going to melt like Freiburg but it’s not over until it’s over.

Re: ⚽ Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Despite the clear evidence before us this season’s Leverkusen team is being massively underrated. They are runaway leaders of the Bundeslig the team in a distant second place, BM, gave Arsenal a shock in midweek and are favourites to win their home leg and book a CL semi final place.

We, an upper mid table EPL team have not been beaten away from home by mugs. Next week we can fight back and maybe get a win but making up a two goal deficit looks really unlikely due to our consistently high rate of goal conceding.

The only chance we have of turning this around next week is if every player ignores every word that deluded and arrogant cunt tells them and ust go out and play like they might actually want to win the fucking game.

I'd like us to work on getting their players on a card suspended for the next round. It won't actually help us, but we owe it to them.

Re: ⚽ Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
One of the Leverkusen players actually had Zouma in a full headlock for one of our few corners. The incident went unnoticed.

However, it was also possibly the last time we got into their box all game so I think, in this light, any talk of official’s racism just distracts from the main point, and that is Moyes’s negativity is the source, root and cause of our own demise.

It’s got more to do with Antonio being a big bruiser who plays for lowly West Ham.

Re: ⚽ Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Ludo.

Taking this to its extreme, you and Mex are saying that there are particular refs/linesmen who don't give big decisions to black players based on their racism?

Therefore, it suggests that these 'racist' officials very seldomly favour black players with their decisions.

Would love to see the stats for this bonkers theory.

Re: ⚽ Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Just saying it had crossed my mind… Antonio consistently gets fouled and has nothing given. Okay, I know he does go down too easily sometimes but very often he is clearly fouled and refs ignore when others would get a foul.

He’s obviously done something, perhaps he posts abusive messages on the referee’s forum.

Embarrassing from Martillo.

Mex/ludo.

Are you seriously suggesting that racism plays a part in black players being awarded penalties or I'd this just confined to Antonio? What happens if the defender committing the foul is also black?

Sorry chaps but that is absolute fucking nonsense and stinks of desperation.

Re: ⚽ Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Referees don't give Antonio anything. Considering the way he gets pushed about and held, it's criminal. I think they just see a big bruiser and think fair enough he can handle being pushed about, but it's not right and not giving anything has racist elements in my opinion.

How did Antonio not get a penalty?

Gaffer, there is no expert explanation to your question. The only answer is its how Moyes rotate player positions during a game because he don't have a squad .

I’m no football expert so can someone please explain the second half positions of Paqueta as centre forward and Antonio as left midfield/ winger?

With Bowen hopefully back we still have half a chance. Lost count amount of times Bowens got Moyes out of jail.

Re: ⚽ Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Bowen will play next week. Pretty sure of that. Not sure how fit he will be though.
